I have been thinking a lot about children.  I'm getting on the old side and do want to have a kid or two.  I'm not ready yet.

I would like to be married first.  This is something that I'm looking forward to when we get home.  I'm sort of planning things in my mind.  I'm not sure Freaky cares what is planned as long as it is a huge party.  I'm not going to make any solid plans until we have set a date.  We aren't going to do that until we get back to Maine.  I know that he wants kids too and isn't ready for them.  My biological clock has been clanging for the past few months.  I see kids come into my store and I just drool over them.  I have the most beautiful nieces and nephew.  Freaky has plenty of both.  He is so good with kids.  He is going to make an amazing father.

I'm going to keep my goal of going to school next year when we get home.  I am going to become a massage therapist.  I can do that and make wedding plans, I'm sure.  I want to have my new career before I become a mommy.  I refuse to be a mommy and be in retail anymore.  NO F*ING WAY!  Anyway, I got some literature in the mail from one school.  It looks as if the cost is going to be about $13,000.  Which isn't as bad as I thought it might.  I admit, I've looked into this before and now I wish I did it ten years ago.  It would have been about $5,000 then.  Oh well...live and learn.

Freaky is doing well in school.  He is in machining now...something like that.  I don't know the terms the school uses.  He tells me and I forget.  I look forward to his graduating often.  I have to check the banner I have on myspace to see how many days are left.  We are going to have a party when it it under 300, then 200, then 100.  Man...that would be so awesome.  I can't wait to get out of Phoenix.

I need to get into contact with my friend TR who is a massage therapist.  She can give me all the pointers I need.  She is going to go to Mexico soon and I am hoping she stops here for a visit.  It is right along the way!  She is interested and involved in a lot of things that interest me.  She reads Tarot and I would love to chat with her more about things like that.  She is one of the coolest people I know.

There was this guy sitting next to me here at the library that smelled like shit...LITERALLY.  I'm so glad that he is gone.  There is a girl sitting there now that smells much better.  I need to get a computer at home.  I don't like not knowing who was using this one before me.  It is also really filtered and there are places I would like to go and not be limited.  (Not necessarily PRON.)

Freaky is going to be home from school soon.  I need to go to work and get something done for a customer.  It won't take long, but I just want to make the effort.

Have a great day, readers!

I hear you on the school countdown by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #1 Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 02:45:48 PM EST
12 more days of class, 15 days ( I think) of clinical.

I'm surprised that there's a requirement for training to be a "massage therapist".

Some anatomy and skill and strength to acquire by Alan Crowe (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Oct 20, 2006 at 02:45:01 PM EST

For example you need to locate the insertion of the sacrospinalis into the pelvis and then work your way up the back doing petrissage. The muscle is not very wide but is involved in holding the head up, so it tends to be very tough, even in sedentary workers. You need a lot of strength in your hands to work on it and get the knots out.

I've not done any massage for a very long time, I hope I'm remembering the correct Latin name.

"Massage therapist" has a slightly different connotation over here...

NOOOO! by Sapphire13 (2.00 / 0) #6 Fri Oct 20, 2006 at 09:11:18 PM EST
It has nothing to do with "Happy Endings."

Where is "over here?"

I think that's by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #7 Sun Oct 22, 2006 at 03:09:36 PM EST
"Happy finish".

Over here is Londinium, UKia.

I was just quoting my boyfriend.

Must be regional then. by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #9 Mon Oct 23, 2006 at 07:51:05 PM EST
But FWIW, my beauty therapist ex did indeed have a few "corrections of what was offered" to be made with various clients in for a massage.  And this was at one of London's top hotels.

Keep your wits about you if you do go into the massage therapist business - decent spa's will have a panic button.

Thank you. by Sapphire13 (2.00 / 0) #10 Tue Oct 24, 2006 at 04:54:26 PM EST
I think that is good advice.  Otherwise I'd have to bring Freaky to play, uh, bouncer.  He would maim someone who tried something funny.

Seriously... by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #11 Tue Oct 24, 2006 at 08:00:41 PM EST
Be careful out there.  Ex GF did 2 years as "aesthetician" to one of the top hotels here and barely a month went by before she "almost had to push the security button".

And her colleagues, who'd been about a bit more, had a few shadowy tales of when there weren't any of those magic red buttons.

That said, it's a quite rewarding job to do - good luck!

I haven't started. by Sapphire13 (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri Oct 20, 2006 at 03:39:43 PM EST
I don't know any of the terminology.  I'm looking forward to looking into a new career.  If there is any advice, I would love to hear it.
