thus far we've seen a lot of cool stuff on this trip. lots of corn in Iowa, we drove through a big storm in Nebraska, and our first glimpse of the mountains was when the clouds cleared in Denver. that was pretty cool, actually, that they were hidden until we were almost into them. we left the interstate and took the scenic route down to Durango, where we stopped and visited friends. we saw some antelope (i think, they certainly weren't deer) as we came across a valley, and there were some breathtaking views while we were up there.

we went to Mesa Verde, did a little hiking and saw the cliff dwellings. our hiking trail was about a foot wide most of the time, and was right on the edge of a cliff. it was good that we did that, though, because when we got to the grand canyon yesterday we weren't quite as freaked out about walking on a paved trail three feet from the edge.

tonight we hit the LA area and the FlightTests, where we get to meet my "sister" and hang out with them again. i'm really looking forward to that. if anyone else is in that area, let me know, maybe we can meet up. Thursday we're heading home, though we're not yet sure which route we're taking. I'll try to update as we go, just in case someone has a couch available or something.

time to go- we're heading to find breakfast, then hitting the road.
